Sydney Run

random
I’m excited to say you can now reach my blog through http://www.randomrunnings.com/!

runnings
This morning I ran across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and through the Royal Botanical Gardens. I might have cursed the large hill to get back to the bridge, but the breakfast and croissant waiting on the other side were a good motivation. Why does it seem all food is fair game on vacation? I’d better run the bridge a few times…

Sister's Visit

random
I just had a wonderful visit from my sister.

runnings
Saturday RF and I tackled what I believe was a bit over 13 miles. We took our time and it was a bit of a challenge but we managed and I’m not even too stiff today! (Bit of a different story yesterday.) We’ll be doing the Earth Day Half Marathon again on April 18th, but I’m afraid Saturday was my last chance for a decent distance beforehand. I head to Australia and New Zealand Friday and return April 1st. I doubt that week I return I’ll be up for too long of a run and then there is just one weekend left prior to the half. I honestly believe I’ll do some running on my vacation, but doubt my running partner will be excited about much distance.

Bit of a Push

random

runnings
Even though RF and I couldn’t run together today (still managed the coffee clutching), I had a great run. After a little mental struggle from starting with a lake I would normally end with, I refocused, relaxed and found myself wanting to continue further by the end of my route. I did a bit more and I think I was past 11 miles and wanted to continue, but I also didn’t want to push my knee. I’ve been having some nagging, but not debilitating swelling. I should be icing more frequently, but it always seems to subside. Today my knee felt tight but I’m confident the little extra didn’t make anything worse.

The Treadmill's Hills

random

runnings
I snuck away from my hectic day to get a run in, but due to certain constraints, I had to settle for a treadmill. Since I’d also been on a treadmill yesterday, I added some interest by doing a hill workout. This time I tried the actual treadmill’s hill setting though. It was a good challenge. I didn’t go for incredibly long, but I owe the treadmill a bit more respect!
