My Health and My Purse

random
I’m now learning the contents of my big purse can also speak towards my health. I’ve been toting around a wad of Puffs Plus with Lotion and Alka-Sletzer Cold Medicine since Monday. To make room (although not necessary) I did remove the seemingly impossible to find light bulb. I found the light bulb but it looks like the light fixture is the issue.

One Year

random

runnings
A year ago RF and I started running together. A year ago I commented on her being a little slower. A year later I’m convinced she’s a better runner than I am.
Our first distance run together was last year at Camp Onomia and on the same trip this year we ran another 10 miles. Over the last year we’ve run countless miles together, had close to the same number of cups of coffee, shoe shopped and gear shopped, and most importantly, confided, consoled and celebrated with each other. Largely thanks to a Lutheran camp and a marathon.

Lost Banana

random
Yesterday I worked from home in the morning and as I sat at my computer eating a banana, I realized I only had one light blub of three working in the room. I found a few bulbs and replaced them. However, as I sat down to work again, I realized I no longer had my banana. Completely confused, I checked the kitchen, my bedroom and even the bathroom. (It might have been too embarrassing to admit if it was in the bathroom.) When I got to the point of uttering expletives over a banana I walked past the slightly ajar drawer the light bulbs were in and noticed my banana laying inside. Wouldn’t the resident mouse have liked that!

Purse Update

random
A little update on the big purse contents. I have been able to remove the butter knife. I figured out I could use my key to turn the door latch while it is missing the door handle. The butter knife has been replaced with a packet of instant oatmeal waiting for a week to be eaten and my exciting new SmartWool hat ready to wear when needed. Again, how have I managed without such space?

Adding a Lake

random

runnings
Yesterday I thought I might have overdone it, but today I’m feeling pretty good. I couldn’t resist the weather, nor could I avoid the fact that I mentioned Saturday I was going to run again. While on an original planned route of 6 or 7 miles, things were going pretty well so I added in another lake for 10 miles. I haven’t run 10 miles since the marathon and I attempted it on top of 6 the day before. It went fine, but I won’t deny hurting last night. But today I don’t really have muscle pain and the ice on my knee last night seems to have kept the swelling at bay. Time to sign up for those halves I’ve been thinking about.
