Squirrels and Their Snacks

There is a walnut tree in the backyard of my building which the squirrels love. The tree was prolific with its nuts this year, creating a littering of shells around our yard. Throughout the summer, squirrels would be hanging out on the furniture leaving little piles of shells or sitting in the trees throwing down the remains of their snack. This evening I was sitting outside with my neighbors when we heard something fairly large fall from a tree where we had just seen a squirrel. We stepped over to look, assuming it was a walnut. Instead we discovered a partially eaten chocolate donut. A hard chocolate donut. Squirrel with a sweet tooth -- I wonder if he has a chipped sweet tooth now.
